My Journey

I obtained a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Art from the University of Colorado. For over 25 years, I've painted, illustrated, and taught art across all ages and mediums, spending many years teaching art in Jefferson County Public Schools.(k-12). I have shown artwork in several galleries and exclusively now in Grace Gallery, in the Santa Fe Arts District in Denver, Colo. At present I have written, illustrated and published my first Children's Book and am working on a sequel. My book is being carried in bookstores worldwide.

Experience

Illustration & Books

I wrote, illustrated and published my first children's picture book, which is now being carried in bookstores worldwide. I tour and conduct read-aloud in schools, bookstores and galleries, often raising funds for non profit Childrens museums and bookstores. A second book , another adventure for Serafina, is in process and is due to be published in 2026. I have always loved to teach using art and stories to capture children's imagination, creativity and encourage critical thinking.

Teaching Art

For 20 years I was an art teacher in the public school system Since that time I have taught private art lessons and for the last several years have taught Paint and Sip classes in Denver and surrounding areas. Because of my experience and expertise as an artist, I was asked to be a contributing artist and have designed many of the paintings used by the company. I love to create art and inspire others to find their creative selves in a fun and accepting environment. That is the motivation for the group painting experiences I lead in my Paint and Sip classes.
